Dust Collection Systems

Excessive exposure to dust particles has the tendency to cause chronic bronchitis, emphysema, and an array of flu-like symptoms. Different types of dust often contain chemical solutions, various fungi, and hazardous carcinogens which can be inhaled into the lungs. Many particles simply can not be seen by the naked eye. Even with the consistent use of protection gear you can still be exposed to harmful dust particles.

Continuous inhaling of wood dust particles can result in an illness or permanent lung damage. Your workshop should be a productive environment not a health endangering one. Luckily, there is a solution to this dust invasion.

Dust collection systems.

Investing in a dust collection system can thoroughly clean the air of your working environment. It also can prevent further exposure to harmful contaminants potentially floating in the air. Dust collection systems are key for safety in any type of workshop. They draw in dirty air, filter out the dust, and then expel clean air back out into the desired area. Having the best air cleaning system in your workshop or home can save your life.

There are various options available in dust collection systems. The more informed you are about these particular options the better. Dust collection systems come in various sizes and models. A dust collection system can be a small 500 CFM that collects dust larger than 30 microns or so to the 4800 CFM with a wider range used for larger areas. The average person will not be able to visibly see this size of dust particle circulating in the air. This makes dust collection systems extremely important for cleaning the surrounding air in which you will be breathing in.

Dust collection systems come with dust filter bags. These bags catch the harmful dust particles as microscopic in size as 1 mircron. Each set of dust collection systems feature their own filter bag attachment. The function of the filter bags can vary in forms as well. Some brands offer easy adjustment features while others offer a more manual approach.

The bag option in dust collection systems can be a type of filter bag or a filter canister. Most filter canisters provide additional filter room but only has the capability to capture dust particles 2 microns or larger.

Another deciding factor in selecting your dust collection systems is the size of your work area. Determine if your work area is small, medium sized, or large. Space plays a major role when it comes to investing in dust collection systems so it is important that you choose the correct dust collection system that exactly suits your specific needs.

Baghouse Filters

Baghouse Filters

What is a baghouse?

A baghouse is a form of air pollution equipment which uses filter bags to separate particulate pollution from the air. Baghouses are not only crucial for manufacturing environments to continue working in a safe area but they are mandatory as well. Every plant must ensure that exhaust industrial gases, dust, and other contaminants are at levels in compliance with the (EPA) Environmental Protection Agency.

Baghouses are required due to the fact the harmful pollutants in the air of workshop areas which pass through the throat and nose or enter the lung will cause major health problems.

One of the most important accessories of the baghouse is the filter. Baghouse filters usually come in two different forms. The first type of baghouse filter available is the shaker collector. The shaker collector filter bags are shaken to empty the powder with the use of a motor driven mechanical rod.

The second type of baghouse filter is the reverse jet baghouse. Reverse jet baghouses, which are also known as Envelope Style Dust Collectors or Pactecon Dust Collectors, are the most commonly used baghouse filters. It uses high pressure and low volume air as a cleaning tool. Reverse jet baghouse filters compress air at 5-6 bar pressure limits. The sizes vary in reverse jet baghouse filters. This makes it one of the most widely used types of baghouse filter.

A reverse jet baghouse filter can increase the bag life, improve the operation of the filter, reduce the level of the reverse jet pulsing, eliminate cross contamination, and ensure all material exits the hopper.
